BPC-157 dosage
No human trial has established a BPC-157 dose. What circulates is 250 to 500 mcg once or twice a day, and that consensus comes from animal studies and forums, not from dose-finding in people. This page separates the two: the doses people actually name, counted across a year of posts, and the much thinner evidence underneath them.
Updated 30 August 2026. Forum counts computed 29 August 2026 over one trailing year of r/Peptides.
The circulating numbers
What doses do people actually use?
250 to 500 mcg once or twice daily, by a wide margin. We counted every microgram figure written near a BPC-157 mention in one trailing year of r/Peptides posts and comments: 1,035 figures in total, with 500 mcg named 393 times and 250 mcg named 255 times. The next most common value, 300 mcg, appears 54 times.
| Figure named | Mentions | Share of all 1,035 |
|---|---|---|
| 500 mcg | 393 | 38.0% |
| 250 mcg | 255 | 24.6% |
| 300 mcg | 54 | 5.2% |
| 100 mcg | 50 | 4.8% |
| 400 mcg | 48 | 4.6% |
| 200 mcg | 47 | 4.5% |
Method: regex over post titles, bodies and comments mentioning BPC-157, counting values from 50 to 2,000 mcg. A count of what people write, not of what anyone measured. Some figures describe other compounds discussed in the same breath.
The evidence
What does the human evidence actually show?
Almost nothing. A 2025 literature and patent review found the human record limited to a retrospective study of 12 patients with knee pain and a phase 1 trial in healthy volunteers whose results were never submitted. Everything else, the wound healing, the tendon repair, the gut protection, comes from animal work, much of it from the same research group that discovered the compound in Zagreb in 1993.
So the circulating 250 to 500 mcg was never validated in a human dose-finding study. It is a bodyweight scaling of rodent doses plus fifteen years of forum iteration, repeated until it hardened into "the protocol". It may be biologically active, it may be inert at that dose in humans; the study that would answer this has not been run. Anyone stating a BPC-157 dose with confidence is quoting the forums, whether they say so or not.
Status
Is it approved or banned anywhere?
Approved nowhere, restricted in several places. WADA has prohibited BPC-157 for athletes at all times since 2022, under S0, the category for substances with no regulatory approval anywhere. The US FDA lists it among bulk compounding substances that may present significant safety risks. Australia and New Zealand schedule it as prescription-only medicine, although no prescribable product exists.
The FDA entry is specific and worth reading in its own words: compounded BPC-157 "may pose risk for immunogenicity", has "complexities with regard to peptide-related impurities", and the agency "lacks sufficient information to know whether the drug would cause harm when administered to humans". That last clause is the honest one-line summary of this entire compound.
One more thread from the literature belongs here: BPC-157 promotes angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels. That is the proposed healing mechanism and also the reason published reviews raise the possibility of tumour promotion. Nobody has shown this happening in a person taking it; nobody has run the study that could rule it out either.
patients in the largest published human study a 2025 review could find: a retrospective case series of knee pain, with no control group. The phase 1 trial's results were never submitted.
The unit trap
Why is it dosed in micrograms?
Because the circulating doses are fractions of a milligram. 250 mcg is 0.25 mg, so a 10 mg vial holds forty of them. This is where BPC-157 differs from the GLP-1 compounds on this site: the risk is not running out of vial, it is a unit mistake. Read 250 mcg as 2.5 mg and the draw is ten times too large; read it as 250 units on a syringe and the error depends on the concentration, which is worse, because it looks plausible.
The defence is doing the arithmetic in mass first and letting the syringe reading fall out at the end. The BPC-157 calculator works exactly that way: dose in micrograms in, units on your syringe out, with the three steps of working printed in between.
The public record
What does the test archive show?
BPC-157 listings in the accumulated public archive are blends, mostly with TB-500 or in KLOW-style stacks. Solo BPC-157 tests are rare. Captured 30 August 2026.
Of the 201 listings in the accumulated Janoshik public archive, 7 name BPC-157, and 5 of the 7 are blends: BPC-157 with TB-500 in one vial, or four-compound KLOW mixes. The market has largely decided this compound travels in company, which changes the arithmetic; a blend label like "10/10 mg" is two concentrations in one vial, and one draw carries both compounds at once.
That maths has its own page: BPC-157 and TB-500, covering the stack, the blend vials, and the per-compound working. And as with everything here, if a vial came with a test report, verify it against the lab before trusting its numbers.
Questions
BPC-157 dosage, asked directly.
What is the established human dose of BPC-157?+
There is none. No completed, published human trial has established a dose. A 2025 literature review found the clinical evidence limited to a 12-patient retrospective knee study and a phase 1 trial whose results were never submitted. Every dosing number in circulation comes from animal studies or forum practice, not from human dose-finding.
What BPC-157 doses do people actually use?+
The circulating practice is 250 to 500 mcg once or twice daily. In one trailing year of r/Peptides posts and comments, we counted 1,035 microgram figures written near a BPC-157 mention: 500 mcg appears 393 times and 250 mcg 255 times, together nearly two thirds of all figures named. That is a count of what people say, not evidence that it works or is safe.
Is BPC-157 approved or banned anywhere?+
It is approved nowhere and restricted in several places. WADA has prohibited it for athletes at all times since 2022 under category S0. The US FDA lists it among bulk substances that may present significant safety risks for compounding, citing immunogenicity risk and a lack of safety data. Australia and New Zealand schedule it as prescription-only despite no product existing.
Why is BPC-157 dosed in micrograms?+
Because the circulating doses are fractions of a milligram: 250 mcg is 0.25 mg. A 10 mg vial at those doses holds 20 to 40 doses. The unit is also where the dangerous mistake lives: reading 250 mcg as 250 units, or as 2.5 mg, changes the draw by a factor of ten or more.

Research use only
MechPeptides sells nothing. BPC-157 has no approved product anywhere, it is not a dietary supplement, and nothing on this page is medical advice or a recommended protocol.
The dose figures on this page are counts of what forum users write, published as a description of circulating practice. Counting a number is not endorsing it, and no human study supports any of the counted doses.
